roboboxEd

opening up the world of robotics for underprivileged youth

OUR MISSION

The roboboxEd project aims to inspire and support underprivileged students to explore robotics by offering customized robotics workshops and free online resources. Workshops involve hands-on activities, and resources include interactive worksheets.

Low-income communities face many barriers of access to educational robotics:
materials, instructors, costs, resources, opportunities

what we do:

kits

Provide kits to build and code a basic robot from scratch

curriculum

Offer a customized curriculum for elementary to middle school students

teach

Offer workshops at schools and after-school programs

Resources

Provide worksheets and free online resources to learn more about tech

How it works

A typical first workshop looks like:

1. introduction on what robots are and how they work

2. Kahoot game to learn the parts of a robot

3. step-by-step guidance to build a basic robot from a kit

4. demonstration of robot functions and movement
